Welcome to Building Better Developers, the developer podcast where we work on getting better step by step professionally and personally. Let's get started. Hello and welcome to another special episode, holiday episode of the Develop and we're Building Better Developers podcast. This episode is just going to be me. I know we have been talking to people for a while. We're going to continue to talk to people. I'm loving the interviews, love to get feedback on who you like, who you don't like. We have talked to a wide range of people, covered a lot of topics, but that's part of what the developer thing is all about. Now one of the things that I have mentioned a little bit in passing, but definitely wanted to make sure I brought up is that we will be launching school.development.com that is available at this point. There are a couple of free courses. We are starting to build out content in courses and we'll be doing so dropping new stuff every month, probably three, four or five courses, depending on how we do it. There will be freebies as there are already. The free courses are going to be shorter. Those are typically maybe an hour or something like that, half hour to hour and a half, maybe two hours, I'd say tops for you to go through it. They are quick reference. They are getting started, things like that kind of courses, all of them, or at least most of them, there will be some sort of a reward download, quick reference, something along those lines that you'll get when you complete it. Once you're in the school, you'll be notified of updates, new classes, things like that. There will be also some, we'll call them general classes. It'll be probably you're going to typically take you at least four to six hours, maybe a little bit longer. Those are going to be paid classes and then we'll have sort of our, I don't know what we want to call them, but sort of like almost like a boot camp kind of class, which typically will be more like a bundle because you will have a lot of these standard classes will add up to something that's a bigger reward, like a, let's say like it was a be a learn to code in Java that may be intro intermediate Java for the web, Java database development, things like that. Much as you have seen with the Python stuff where we had an intro to Python, we did Python with SQL, we did the Python certification. So our goal is to take a lot of this content, update it, put it back out in a way that is much easier for you to consume, for you to keep track of what's going on, for you to see essentially tracks, sort of like educational tracks of different topics. And we're going to be open to suggestions and we'll be talking to students as we go through. Once you're listening to the podcast, you will be one of the first. You can jump onto the Developineur email list. If you haven't already go out, Developineur.com, sign up, go to our forum, jump on the list and you will get updates there as well. But school.developineur.com go in, you get free to register, free to see what courses are out there. You can take the free courses all day long. And then if you want to pay, then you can pay for some of the paid courses as well. That is one of the big things we're doing in the new year. We're going to try to take all of this information, these literally thousands of blog posts and articles, hundreds of podcasts, and we're going to try to take a lot of this stuff, the content, update it, change it around a little bit so it's a little easier for you to consume. Some of it may look a little bit familiar, but we're going to get this stuff updated and present it in a way that will make it easier for you to sort of choose your path and not be distracted maybe from the 18 other topics that we cover as part of the entrepreneurial side, the business side, launch and real business side, side hustle side, and of course all of the technologies that are out there. And we're going to try to do, much as we've done with the YouTube channel, we're trying to sneak in on a pretty regular basis, sort of like a crash course intro, quick kind of thing to get getting started with some of the new technologies that are out there. We've got the more traditional stuff like your SQL getting started installing Apache Tomcat on a server, getting Java on Windows, getting databases going, getting started with getting started with a lot of different that we've done, you know, Amazon, we're going to have web stuff, we're going to have, we're probably going to throw like, you know, getting started with React, definitely testing Selenium, things like that. We've got a long list. We've got a big roadmap. It will probably come out sometime soon. I wanted to throw that out and just say that we're getting to the end of the year, like literally seconds are counting down to get to the end of the year. So I'm making it through another year. 22 has been a challenging year for a lot of people to get through. So you know, pat yourself on the back. I know we work very hard because you've got side houses, you've got all your stuff that you do. Just take a few hours at least, kick back, chill, relax, enjoy the, you know, the dwindling hours, minutes, seconds of the year and get yourself a little bit of rest so you can get ready to hit the ground running in 2023. We'll be here as always to help you out. We're going to continue to throw stuff out there, give you content, give you experience. We're talking to people that can hopefully help you out, guide you, mentor you, point you to masterminds and products and solutions and everything else that is part of becoming a better developer. Whether you're just starting or whether like me, you've been doing it for decades because I got to confess in the last year through the stuff that we've done, I've become a better developer. Just sharing it with others also rubs off on me. So that works out awesome. So all of us together are just let's get a little bit better every day, every week, every month. So as we get to the end of each year, we can see that we have progressed further towards you know, along our roadmap and towards our goals and objectives. I want to keep you too long though, because I want you to get out there and have some fun. I just want to say thank you very much for listening for another great year and we will see you again in 2023. So go out and have yourself a great day, a great week, a great end of the year and we will talk to you. Thank you for listening to Building Better Developers, the Develop-a-Nor podcast. You can subscribe on Apple Podcasts, Stitcher, Amazon, anywhere that you can find podcasts. We are there. And remember, just a little bit of effort every day ends up adding into great momentum and great success.
