Mastering Your Career

I learned a lot from a few years of research and discussion of how my experiences in IT are the same or different from others.  This education has led to a book on how to navigate your way through the ups and downs of an IT career.  This is not a book of silver bullets and secret shortcuts.  It is a book for those that want to make the most of their investment in a career.  If you are looking for ideas on mastering your career, then look no further.

Each chapter covers different aspects of winning the career game.  We start out by examining the reasons to become a better developer (and to push others to join us).  Along the way, we follow several paths to improve our skills both technical and those that are not.  You will find that the best developer is more than the code they write and instead is a master of solving problems.

We even look at the later and advanced years of your career.  There is going to be a change in expectations as your abilities grow.  Therefore, you will find new challenges and a need to expand into those.  There are chapters that look at how to improve communicaitokn with others and how to continue a steady growth of mastering your career all the way to the end.

Although a lot of this content can be found in our blog posts over the years, there is even more provided in the book to tie it all together.  We have paperback and Kindle versions available so you can read it at your convenience.  I hope you find this as excellent a learning tool as I did in writing it.  We all have our plans and goals for our career.  However, this is the perfect read to help you get motivated, stay motivated, and make the most of your time.  Your career is not a sprint it is a marathon.  This is your first step in that journey.
